Water was going in the wrong direction. We regraded the area, corrected the drainage system to route water away from the home, and installed a natural stone walkway from the driveway to the front door.
Project Overview
This Southbridge property had two problems we could solve in one visit. The drainage was sending water toward the home instead of away from it — a common issue when the original grade settles or wasn't correct to begin with. And the entry path from the driveway to the front door was just bare ground, making a muddy mess every time it rained.
We started with the drainage. The area was regraded so water flows away from the foundation toward the correct discharge point. Getting the slope right is the whole job here — even a small grade correction makes a significant difference in how water moves after a storm.
With the drainage sorted, we moved on to the walkway. We laid out the path, cut in the base, compacted it, and set each piece of natural stone into place. The stone creates a clean, solid surface that handles foot traffic and weather season after season without sinking or shifting when the base is done right.
The finished project gives this property a dry foundation and a proper entry — two things that make a real day-to-day difference for the homeowner. The natural stone ties in well with the neighboring retaining wall project we completed on the same property.
